IS MATCHA GOOD FOR YOU?

Is matcha good for you?

The short answer is: yes. A detailed answer on all the benefits of matcha can be found in our blog. But I guess you are not here for that.

The three main benefits of matcha are caffeine, L-theanine, and antioxidants.

CAFFEINE

A sustained energy boost without the jitters and crash. 1 matcha = 1 espresso.

Just as any green tea, matcha provides you with a daily dose of caffeine to boost your energy. Still, it’s not like any other source of caffeine: matcha won’t spike and crash, but lifts you gently into focus until it slowly gets you back to normal.

L-THEANINE

A high concentration of L-theanine-  regulates caffeine uptake – keeping you calm and focused for hours.

L-theanine is a unique amino acid found in some green and black teas that not only provides more energy span (up to 6 hours) with less amount of caffeine, but also helps you focus and improves your attention. Why? Because it helps the body absorb the caffeine slower than coffee, as the concentration of this amino acid is even more present in matcha (as we ingest the whole leaf). This little friend is helping us feel good after our daily cup of matcha.

ANTIOXIDANTS

Helps kick your metabolism into full gear and detoxify. A healthy metabolism means more energy and better digestion.

Matcha has 1384 units of antioxidants per gram. That definitely settles matcha as the highest antioxidant rating of all types of food. It even beats spinach.
